It's a get together after so long as well as a steamboat lunch as a jian xing for the guys that will be going into army this coming January!

Venue: Seoul Garden / Yuki Yaki / Zhen fa ( suggested by Isa)
Date: 1st/ 2nd of January
Time will be confirmed later, but will most probabaly be lunch (due to its price) (:

We'll try to get Yusheng as well, for the steamboat.

Please vote for your choice of venue and date :) or any preference for other venues not listed above as well as whether u would be interested in turning up! :)

This will probably be one of the Major class outing!

It'll be tough to get everyone together due to work, army and many other factors.

NIGHT CYCLING!

Dear friends,

We are planning for a night cycling on the 16th dec(tuesday) and this time round we will be hunting for makan places in S'pore!

Those interested please SMS me to let me know that you are going by this friday(12/12/08)

We need those without bike to maybe go borrow, lend, beg or steal from your friends!( im just kidding^^) We think it will be better to get a bike rather to rent it from the bike shop. First of all is the cost, secondly is the distance. Of course, if we are left with no choice then we shall rent it from the bike shop. We will try to ask from friends too. So it's important to give your confirmation asap.

Route:

Starting/ending point: ECP

ECP--(siglap park connector)--(bedok park connector)--(bedok north road)--(kaki bukit ave 1)--(Eunos link/ hougang ave 3)--(hougang ave 2)--(Yio chu kang rd)--(upp paya lebar rd)--(geyland rd)--(joo chiat rd)--(marine Parade rd)--(siglap park connector)--ECP-- HOME!

Setting off time: 7pm.

If we do not need to rent a bike from any rental shop, we can all gather outside Aj and start from Yio Chu kang rd, then continue the route. Ending point will then be at Aj. There will be good food along the way, i hope( we are still thinking through), if you know of any along the route that we are travelling it will be very kind of you to contribute. If the food that you recommand is not nice, then we will all 'ham-tam' you.^^( just kidding).

Any queries please feel free to ask Kenneth, maye or myself. By the way, please anticipate any last minute changes along the way as there will bound to be some difficulties. Fear not, Our first aider, Warren Tan will be there with us. ( i havent ask him yet, but i hope he will be present) And from the mistakes i learnt by leading all of you the wrong way for 4 times, i hope it will not happen again. (hahaha....)

Please reply asap!(via SMS)

Thanks!

Exams and Morale

In my opinion, performance at Exams has two main criteria:

Effort & Preparation
Morale

After major exams, and if there are more papers coming up, it was my secondary school's teacher's advice to not discuss, and move on.

Often, in the process of discussion, you tend to exaggerate to yourself how badly (or good) you have done. This results in you losing morale (or becoming complacent), and this will not help you at all.

Realise that you no longer has control over your performance in the paper that it has past. If you have good reasons to believe you may have done not as well, tell yourself: it is over, it shall not affect the rest of my paper, and it is just my beliefs, it may not be the fact.

Continue to work hard and rest well for the rest of the papers! =)

Email sent 1 November

Dear classes of 09/07, 16/07, 29/07,

It's 1 Nov 2008 and I hope you see this in time before you sit for your GP exam on Monday.

We've come so far as to understand the world we live in and even to the point of engaging with the world through our essays, discussions, opinions and convictions. Hopefully, General Paper has also developed in you a love for this world you live in, despite its complexities.

I hope you've learned above all else, to be critical thinkers and skilled in some form of anaylsis and argument. And that you've also picked up some general knowledge along the way so you can proudly say you are educated, learned and knowledgable.

Do your very best this Monday and do not let me down. All of you are capable of logic and analysis and it does not matter how wide and extensive the knowledge that is needed - show the Examiners that you CAN think You do not vomit, you are not shallow, you are not ill-informed. You can THINK. This applies to both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Lastly, I will be praying for all of you and hoping that everyone will exit the exam hall with at least some confidence that you have done well and done your best. Rest well on Sunday night and be calm, cool, and collected when you see the papers. You can do this.

Cheers,

Ms Wu

Email sent Oct 11

Hi all,

I have set up a website located here: http://ajc0907.blogspot.com/

This website currently host a class calendar of selected extra classes and exam dates. It is a actually an embedded Google calendar, if you use Google calender too, i can add you.

If you are organizing class events, especially study sessions (now that A-level is near) do feel free to email me. I can add the event to the calender, and post and email out details to everyone. Just a pity, i discovered this great feature only at the end of JC 2...

In future, class relay will also be posted here in addition to being sent out. (so you can double check that you have not missed out any relays).

If you have things like uploaded class photo (*hint* our recent Seoul Garden lunch), do also contact me, to work out a easy sharing solution.

On a side note:

I am still collecting chalet fund. Do pass me the full amount of $25, if you have not done so ASAP.

I have also made public the chalet accounting here for greater transparency and trust:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pznQJVQgYIgRxvyU8mQbZZQ

The document has three tabs (scroll through by clicking on the tabs on the bottom left)

Thanks
Warren

update: our class 2007 year end BBQ accounting has also been published here:
