Exams and Morale
In my opinion, performance at Exams has two main criteria:
Effort & Preparation
Morale
After major exams, and if there are more papers coming up, it was my secondary school's teacher's advice to not discuss, and move on.
Often, in the process of discussion, you tend to exaggerate to yourself how badly (or good) you have done. This results in you losing morale (or becoming complacent), and this will not help you at all.
Realise that you no longer has control over your performance in the paper that it has past. If you have good reasons to believe you may have done not as well, tell yourself: it is over, it shall not affect the rest of my paper, and it is just my beliefs, it may not be the fact.
Continue to work hard and rest well for the rest of the papers! =)

Email sent 1 November
Dear classes of 09/07, 16/07, 29/07,
It's 1 Nov 2008 and I hope you see this in time before you sit for your GP exam on Monday.
We've come so far as to understand the world we live in and even to the point of engaging with the world through our essays, discussions, opinions and convictions. Hopefully, General Paper has also developed in you a love for this world you live in, despite its complexities.
I hope you've learned above all else, to be critical thinkers and skilled in some form of anaylsis and argument. And that you've also picked up some general knowledge along the way so you can proudly say you are educated, learned and knowledgable.
Do your very best this Monday and do not let me down. All of you are capable of logic and analysis and it does not matter how wide and extensive the knowledge that is needed - show the Examiners that you CAN think You do not vomit, you are not shallow, you are not ill-informed. You can THINK. This applies to both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Lastly, I will be praying for all of you and hoping that everyone will exit the exam hall with at least some confidence that you have done well and done your best. Rest well on Sunday night and be calm, cool, and collected when you see the papers. You can do this.
Cheers,
Ms Wu
